Add the AdSense Code to Your Theme's Header ManuallyIf you want to add custom code to your website's header manually, the best way to do it is via an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client such as FileZilla. This lets you connect to your website and edit its files much more easily than from your WordPress dashboard.
For this scenario, you'll need to edit your theme's functions.php file and preferably use a child theme. That way, your custom code, such as your Google ads, won't disappear when you have to update your theme (which happens often).
